Universal Declaration of Animal Rights


whereas all animals have rights and disregard and contempt for those rights have led and continue to drive men to commit crimes against nature and animals, it proclaims:


Article No. 1
All animals are born equal and they have the same rights to existence.


Article No. 2
a) Every animal is entitled to respect.
b) Man as animal species, can not assume the right to exterminate other animals or to exploit, thereby violating this right. You are obliged to put his knowledge to service animals.
c) All animals have the right to health, care and protection of man.


Article No. 3
a) No animal shall be subjected to bad treatment or cruel actions.
b) If necessary the death of an animal, it must be sudden and without fear or pain.


article No. 4
a) All animals belonging to a wild species have a right to live free in their natural environment, land, air or water to reproduce.
b) Any deprivation of freedom, even for educational purposes is contrary to this right.


Article No. 5
a) Any animal of a species living traditionally in the environment of man has a right to live and grow at the pace and conditions of life and freedom to be themselves of its kind.
b) Any amendment to this rhythm and conditions dictated by man for commercial purposes is contrary to that right.


Article No. 6
a) Any animal that man has chosen as a partner is entitled to the duration of life is according to their natural longevity.
b) The abandonment of an animal is a cruel and degrading treatment.


Article No. 7
All animal work is entitled to a reasonable limitation of time and intensity of work, adequate food and rest.


Article No. 8
a) Animal experimentation involving physical or psychological suffering is incompatible with animal rights, whether it's medical experiments, scientific, commercial or other form of experimentation.
b) Alternative techniques should be used and developed.


Article No. 9
When an animal is raised for food should be fed, and transported and slaughtered, but it is for him cause for anxiety or pain.


Article No. 10
a) No animal should be used for entertainment.
b) The animal exhibits and shows make use of animals are incompatible with the dignity of the animal.


Article No. 11
Any act that causes the death of an animal without a biocide, ie, a crime against life.


Article No. 12
a) Any act that causes the death of large numbers of wild animals is genocide, that is, a crime against the species.
b) Pollution and the destruction of the natural environment leads to genocide.


Article No. 13
a) An animal dead must be treated with respect.
b) Violent scenes in which animals are the victims, should be banned in movies and on television, unless they are intended to give displays of attacks on animal rights.


Article No. 14
a) Institutions for the protection and safeguarding associations must be represented at government level.
b) Animal rights must be defended by law, such as human rights.



This statement was adopted by The International League for the Rights Animal in 1977, proclaimed the following year. Was subsequently adopted by the United Nations (UN) and the Organization of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
